The troll raised by the Dolorosa was soon known to many as the Sufferer, or the Signless. He liked both those titles, and preferred being addressed as such. His Disciple was always by his side, writing down his dreams and visions when he woke in the middle of the night, before they faded. She roamed the country with him and the Dolorosa, never once hinting at regreting her decision. She became an excellent moirail for the Sufferer, helping him with speeches by reminding him of visions she had written down. One day he was finishing a speech in a tavern that was in firghtening proximity to the palace when his Disciple approached him. A man in a
